Zero2FSD is free to learn from, share and adapt for non-commercial purposes. If you want to make money from it, ask first: licensing@zero2fsd.com.

In short

Lessons, figures, quizzes, flashcards and lab text are licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 4.0 International License (CC BY-NC-SA 4.0).
Code (the simulator, the labs, the graders and the code that draws every figure) is licensed under the PolyForm Noncommercial License 1.0.0.
Third-party software keeps its own license. See NOTICE in the repository.

What you can do without asking

Study it, on your own or in a group.
Share it: link to it, copy it, or print it to give away.
Teach with it at a school, university, nonprofit or free workshop, as long as you don't charge for the material itself.
Adapt it: translate it, remix the figures, or build on the code. You must credit it and keep the result non-commercial, and an adaptation of the lessons must use the same license.

The conditions

Credit it. Write "Zero2FSD by Vivek Narayanan (https://zero2fsd.com), CC BY-NC-SA 4.0", and say if you changed anything.
Non-commercial. Your use must not be mainly for commercial advantage or payment.
Share alike. Adaptations of the lessons go out under CC BY-NC-SA 4.0.
Keep the notices. Copies of the code carry its license text and its Required Notice: line.

Commercial use: ask first

You need a separate commercial license to:

sell the course, or any part of it, in any form (printed, as an ebook, or as video);
put it behind a paywall or a subscription;
use it in a paid course, bootcamp or corporate training;
use the code or the figures in a commercial product or service.

Email licensing@zero2fsd.com and describe what you have in mind. If you're not sure whether your use counts as commercial, ask.
